Honeycomb Panels
ALA Series: Aluminum Honeycomb Panels
An all aluminum honeycomb panel featuring hexagonal aluminum
honeycomb (ALH-CG) bonded to aluminum face material. Face
material is commonly between .020'' and .125'' in thickness—thinner or thicker material can be substituted. The face material
can be painted or powder coated prior to fabrication. We offer
20 standard colors in KYNAR 500 (PVDF), several in enamel, in
conductive coat, and anodized finishes.
These honeycomb panels are fire-tested ASTM E 162, E 662
and are rated class I. (Zero flame spread, zero smoke generation.)
- 1/4" to 6" panel thickness
- Face sheets: mill finish, primed, anodized, painted, textured,
etc.
- Cores: Commercial grade aluminum honeycomb, 3003 alloy. (5000
series available, if needed.)

ALP Series: Paper Core Panels
Aluminum face sheets over Kraft paper honeycomb
core. Our Kraft paper honeycomb is the Verticel type, with
straight ribbons between corrugated ribbons. It's a structural
material, treated with phenolic resin for strength and durability.
Untreated paper core is available where appropriate.

All values are the strengths of the core for 1" thickness based upon extensive laboratory testing per ASTM Standards. A safety factor appropriate for any given design should be applied to the shear strength and compressive strength data. A safety of 4 to 1 is recommended for most structural applications.

Foam Core Panels
ALF Series: Foam Core Panels
Aluminum face sheets over foam
cores. Cores can be expanded polystyrene or polyurethane foams.
Foams come in various densities. For some applications a substrate,
such as hardboard, is used between the aluminum face and the core.
This allows the use of a lighter density foam while increasing
resistance to dents. The resulting five-ply panel is generally
used where impact is likely to occur. The thickness tolerance
of foam core panels is not as precisely controllable as with honeycomb panels.

PH Series: Phenolic Backer Sheet Honeycomb Panels
The PH series honeycomb panels feature phenolic backer
sheet faces and cores of aluminum or paper honeycomb. Backer sheet
is available in thicknesses of .020", .032", and .049". Lightweight panels for
use where appearance or high strength are not priorities.
